Duo Apps

About us

Duo Apps is an independent guide to which apps work on the iPhone Duo, Apple's dual-screen iPhone. Each app is graded out of 10 for how well it uses the second display, and apps with iPhone Duo support on the way are listed until they can be graded. See the full iPhone Duo compatibility list.

How we grade iPhone Duo apps

Every graded app is assessed against the same set of dual-screen features, and each feature is marked as works, partial or doesn’t work:

The grade out of 10 reflects how well the app uses both screens overall. Each app page lists the features that were assessed and how each one did.

Hands-on tests and announcements

A grade comes from one of two places, and every app page says which. Where an app has been tested hands-on on an iPhone Duo, the page gives the test date, the iOS version and notes on what was tried. Where it hasn’t been tested yet, the grade is based on what Apple and the developer have announced about the app’s iPhone Duo support, and the page says so. Grades based on announcements are replaced once the app has been tested hands-on.

What the grades mean

Announced apps

When Apple or a developer announces that an app will support the iPhone Duo before that support is available, the app is listed as coming to iPhone Duo, with the expected timing and a link to the announcement. It gets a grade once the support is out.

Sources and updates

Every entry links to its sources, such as Apple Newsroom posts and developer announcements, and shows the date it was last updated.

Corrections and suggestions

If a grade looks wrong, an app has changed, or you’d like an app graded, send a message through the contact page.
