Does Netflix work on the iPhone Duo?

Last updated

Not yet. iPhone Duo support for Netflix has been announced, but it isn't available to test or grade yet.

Optimized at launch: browse Clips on the outer display, then unfold to keep watching on the inner display.

iPhone Duo features

  • Rotation

    Works in this app

The app works in portrait and landscape, folded or unfolded, and rearranges itself sensibly whichever way you hold the phone.

  • Dual-pane layout

    Works in this app

The app splits the display into two panes that work together, like your inbox on one side and the open email on the other, or a video on top with controls below when half-folded.

  • Fold/unfold continuity

    Works in this app

Open or close the phone and the app picks up exactly where you were, on the same screen and scroll position, with nothing reloading. Start a video folded, keep watching unfolded.

How iPhone Duo grades work

Each app is graded on how it handles the foldable: filling the 7.6-inch inner display, dual-pane layouts, drag and drop across the fold, and keeping its place when you fold or unfold. The grade out of 10 sums it up. Grades come from a hands-on test where there has been one, and otherwise from what Apple and the developer have announced; every app page says which. New to the iPhone Duo? How iPhone Duo app compatibility works.

  • 8 and up

    Most compatible

Built for the foldable: fills the inner display and handles folding well.

  • 4 to 7.9

    Half experience

Works, but doesn’t make full use of the inner display.

  • Below 4

    Not compatible

Runs like a regular iPhone app, or has trouble when you fold or unfold.
